Safeguarding & Youth Protection Policy

1. Purpose & Scope

The SudaGene Consortium and Gene Academy operate the Pre-Collegiate Fellowship in Secondary Biology and Junior STEM, serving secondary school students across Sudan, Egypt, and the global diaspora. Because our junior fellowship engages learners who may be under the age of 18, we enforce a strict, zero-tolerance Safeguarding Policy to ensure a safe, respectful, and transparent educational environment.

2. Faculty & Tutor Code of Conduct

All physician educators, graduate tutors, and staff interacting with junior fellows must adhere to the following principles:

• Open & Recorded Sessions: All digital seminars, lectures, and group tutoring sessions for high school tracks are conducted via official, recorded institutional channels. One-on-one private messaging between adult faculty and minor students is strictly prohibited.
• Parent & Guardian Transparency: Parents and legal guardians are welcomed and encouraged to observe all virtual classrooms and receive copies of all academic progress reports.
• Dignity & Respect: Instructors must maintain absolute professionalism, culturally sensitive language, and supportive pedagogical practices at all times. Zero tolerance is enforced for verbal harassment, discrimination, or intimidation.

3. Minor Learner Data & Media Protection

• Photographs, videos, or identifying academic submissions of minor students will never be published or shared publicly without explicit, written parental or guardian consent.
• GA-ID registration data for junior fellows is segregated and strictly restricted from public directories.

4. Reporting Concerns & Whistleblower Channel

If any student, parent, or faculty member observes or suspects behavior that violates our youth safety protocols, they are urged to report it immediately to our dedicated Safeguarding Officer:
